This series was developed in response to an exposition with the theme of rebirth. Influenced by my time in the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala, my contact and connection has grown with the physical and spiritual qualities of the natural landscape. I am more present and aware when in contact with each of Earth’s elements: fire, water, earth and air for each has its roles in life cycles. My first mental image of this series came to me during a Mayan ceremony, all I could see were various images of the female figure amongst the flames.
